CFA® Program: What is it about?

The CFA^® course consists of three levels- Level I, Level II and Level III.

Level I CFA^® Program introduces various topics like equity, derivatives, etc., which are eventually used for creating portfolios. Level I CFA^® Exam is offered in February, May, August, and November. It has 180 MCQs (90 questions, 2 sessions – 2 hours 15 min each).

Level II CFA^® Program emphasizes on the application of various tools like quantitative analysis, portfolio analysis for doing asset valuation. Level II CFA^® Exam is offered in May and August and has 88 MCQs (44 questions, 2 sessions – 2 hours 15 min each).

Level III CFA^® Program focuses on Portfolio Management and different strategies for creating specific portfolios for individuals and institutions. Level III CFA^® Exam is offered in May and November. It has 9 – 12 essay type questions and 44 MCQs (2 sessions – 2 hours 15 min each).

CFA® Program Duration

It takes a minimum of 2 years to cover all the three levels of the CFA® Program. EduPristine provides training for CFA course in Online, Classroom and Self Study format. Students can opt for Full time training or part time training as per their convenience.

CFA® Program Eligibility

To be eligible for the CFA course, the candidate:

Should have a bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree or be in the final year of the bachelor’s degree at the time of registration. Or
Should have four years of qualified, professional work experience or a combination of work/college experience that totals four years.
Students with two years remaining in their undergraduate studies are now eligible to register for the Level I exam!

CFA® Program Registrations and Exam

Exam registration involves a two-step process: candidates first register for the exams and then schedule their actual exam appointment.

Level I exams have four windows (February, May, August, November),
Level II has three (May, August, November), and
Level III has two (February, August).

In line with the significant investment made by the CFA® Institute in the evolution of the CFA® Program, including the introduction of Practical Skills Modules and Specialized Pathways for Level III, modest price adjustments will be implemented for the 2025 exam year. These changes will go into effect when 2025 exam registrations open in May 2024.

Here are the key changes:

Early Bird Registration Fees:

Early bird registration fee for Levels I & II will increase from $940 to $990.
Early bird registration fee for Level III will increase from $940 to $1,090.

Standard Registration Fees:

Standard registration fee for Levels I & II will increase from $1,250 to $1,290.
Standard registration fee for Level III will increase from $1,250 to $1,390

Enrollment Fee for New Level I Candidates:

The enrollment fee for New Level I candidates will remain unchanged at $350.

Deferral Fees:

The price of paid (non-emergency) deferrals will increase from $399 to $449 starting with the February 2025 exam window
